Both the Old Testament reading and the Psalm this week were laments. Laments aren't something we talk much about in the Christian faith, and that's a big mistake.
Here are a couple of videos to help make sense of that. The first is an explanation from author Ashley Sampson on what lament is. The second is a short introduction by a pastor named Mark Vroegop on the reasons (and problems) with the Church not teaching how to lament. He is speaking to the Evangelical Church in particular, as that is his faith tradition. But his reasons speak to all branches of the Christian tree.
