You visit the earth and water it;
you greatly enrich it;
the river of God is full of water;
you provide the people with grain,
for so you have prepared it.
You water its furrows abundantly,
settling its ridges,
softening it with showers,
and blessing its growth.
You crown the year with your bounty;
your wagon tracks overflow with richness.
The pastures of the wilderness overflow;
the hills gird themselves with joy;
the meadows clothe themselves with flocks;
the valleys deck themselves with grain;
they shout and sing together for joy. ~ Psalm 65:9-13
More promises of life from God.
For today's devotion the questions are the same as yesterday.
Where do you find life right now?
What are the signs of life that spring out even from the darkness?
Today make the intention to seek out those places.
Make the promise to notice them when God points them out.
And make the promise to be a sign of life for another. Be a sign of life for one who is questioning whether life is winning. Be a sign of life to one who is feeling despair.
And if that person is you - if despair feels like it has the upper hand - ask for help. Reach out. There is someone that wants to be a sign of life for you.
There is one God sends to you to show you the river of life.
Thank you for this life, O God! Help me to see and feel its richness. Amen
