Housing the Holy: A Place at the Table (Peace)

Take off the garment of your sorrow and affliction, O Jerusalem, and put on forever the beauty of the glory from God. Put on the robe of the righteousness that comes from God; put on your head the diadem of the glory of the Everlasting; for God will show your splendor everywhere under heaven. For God will give you evermore the name, “Righteous Peace, Godly Glory.”

Arise, O Jerusalem, stand upon the height; look toward the east, and see your children gathered from west and east at the word of the Holy One, rejoicing that God has remembered them. ~ Baruch 5:1-5

God is inviting everyone to the party!

And God gives you the party outfit to wear!

No scruffy work clothes. Nope, just the very best. Why, you'll be dressed like a king or queen.

And when you get to the party, what do you see?

Who do you see?

A gathering of God's people.

What does peace look like?

When everyone comes to the party.

When everyone is able to experience God's generosity and no one is left out.

When you look around and know that you are simply one of many who gets to enjoy God's blessings.

Generous and gracious God, open the doors of our hearts to peace so that we can make a place at the table for those who are usually left out. Amen
