With this new blog, I will be starting a new theme to get us going. Micah 6:8 was the passage from one of our recent council devotions, and Kelsey Tomlinson, our Director of Christian Education & Youth Ministry, told us that it will also be the theme for the Tuscarora youth retreat next year. I don't think I'd be lying when I said it was one of the most quoted passages in scripture.
So I want to spend a little time focusing on what God means and teaches and shows us about justice, kindness (or mercy), and walking humbly (or with humility). We'll look at some passages and people in scripture to put some flesh on these words.
In addition, I'll ask for a little kindness and mercy from you: I'm still learning the ins and outs of this new platform, so you might get some glitches and changes over these new few weeks as I get more comfortable with it. (and don't be surprised if I change my mind about the design as well. I still haven't figured all of the design stuff out!)
